About Olaf Stevens
Simple forms, lavish decors
The Collections, created for laboratory purposes by Olaf Stevens
For years now, the Dutch designer, Olaf Stevens, has made a name for himself with his unusual style. In glass and porcelain alike, his variations of form and ornamentation are always guaranteed to surprise, combining motifs of a long tradition with absolute innovations.
Olaf Stevens’s objects obtain their special artistic worth only through their particular design. Stevens exploits the translucency and brilliance of the objects in applying his surface design in various, sometimes ornamented layers; it is only in seeing (through) them together and in their myriad reflections that they unfold their full effect. Thus, decoration is not solely a matter of the outer surface, but, as in all ceramic objects, of the body of the material. The effect is astounding. He has created an exception amongst collections, one that will set standards among world-class glassmakers.
Haute Couverts
A new table top concept for the haute cuisine!
After two years designing and developing an exclusive collection of porcelain tableware, I am delighted to present Haute Couverts®, the finishing touch for the presentation of your Haute Cuisine to your guests.
The Haute Couverts® collection is a concept and design by Olaf Stevens, produced in collaboration with PACT in Limoges, a porcelain producer specialised in product development with innovative and traditional techniques.
The collection consists of a complete dinner service with the most refined detailing that nevertheless also features all the properties that could be expected of crockery for the catering industry. The porcelain has a rich ornamental quality, seen in various techniques. With Haute Couverts®, you have a top quality dinner service with which you can truly distinguish yourself and do justice to both your guests and your kitchen. We can offer you a completely unique porcelain collection, tailored to your wishes.
The development of Haute Couverts® has brought Olaf Stevens back to his original trade: ceramics and porcelain. His work, characterised by a strong graphical streak combined with the application of materials according to old, almost-forgotten craftsmanship, is found in international art collections.
He previously introduced the time-honoured Crystal Graal technique in his glass art. With Haute Couverts®, he explores the frontiers of materials and shapes and thus also the definitions of the concepts of a plate, a bowl and a serving dish. The culinary dish forms the starting point for each item of crockery.
If you are interested in this exclusive collection of porcelain tableware, I would be happy to make an appointment with you to show you the full collection.
I look forward to hearing from you.
